Bought a couple of boats last year. Started out with a Pro Steelheader (the new ones made by Rogue) and then 9 months later got a Hewes Craft Pro V. Wow what a boat!! I have fished lakes and ocean and even dragged some kids around in a tube on Billy Chinook. If anyone is looking to buy a boat I would recommend looking at Hewes Craft for their great utilitarian use.

NICE! Our's is a 20ft also but, we went with the Honda 150 and Honda 8.8. Just made reservations today for Odell. I talked with the folks at Ampro on how to optimize the 150 and decided to go with a 4 blade prop and kept the 3 blade for my spare. With the boat full of fuel and 4 adults, was able to get 38mph on Detroit. You will enjoy the boat, it has so much room and so many uses. Congrats!

Two things that really surprised me was how quiet the motor is and how fast it gets up on plane. This was used an 07 but looks brand new. What did the 4 blade prop do differently over the 3?

I've owned three sleds since 2006.

#1 was a 14' Lavro drift boat back in 87, twas a bear to master but it was my pleasure craft for years till I need $$$$ more than pleasure......

#2 was a 1984 18' Alumaweld flat-bottomed sled with CC & an 80 Johnson jet. What a great learning boat, will never own another flat bottom boat, EVER.....

#3 a 1994 16' Willie Predator open sled with a 90 Yamaha jet & a T8. I loved this boat for fishing and duck hunting.

    #4 is a 1998 18' Jetcraft windshield boat with an 80 Johnson jet & T8 trolling motor.
Since last year's winter steelhead season about froze me solid I changed priorities and went with comfort features like a full top & back curtain, Cannon electric DR's and an eze steer system for trolling in the captain seat....
Yep, good choice although I do miss duck hunting in the sloughs though......

That was funny but I don't think I will ever own a Johnson again.
Spent to much time wrenching on them in the Coast Guard.
I am a Yamaha man but this 20hp Tohatsu is pretty nice so far.(knock on wood)

I'm a Yamaha man too but for a trolling motor T8!!!!

All the Johnsons I've owned were smooth running but cold blooded.

    Thanks for your service.
You should tell him to try and get station in Alaska we hunted and fished are butts off up there.
Plus you could go vist him during prime fishing times.
We had the V6 Johnson I think it was a long time ago they could handle the cold weather. The Yamaha held up great as long as you mixed your own fuel.

He was stationed up at PA and took duty in Alaska a few times but he spent the majority of his time on a boat sailing around South America.....

    That don't sound to bad.
Hope he makes it back to the Northwest soon so he can show you how to drive that new boat of yours.
