This week, I learned that a property in Christmas Valley we've enjoyed for sage rats and jackrabbits in the past has been sold and will soon pass to a new owner. I deeply appreciated the current owners' hospitality; they are fine people and they've been very good to us over the years. A few colleagues and I will have to find a new place to eliminate pests. Let the journey begin. If anyone has a suggestion for a private property or BLM acreage almost ANYWHERE in Oregon, I'd like to hear your recommendation.

    Hello ron22250,
We just got the word on Wednesday, and I hope to make a few (other) contacts in the area soon. The site is about 289 miles from my home in Tualatin, so I've asked for some assistance from the rancher who sold his property because he's advocated for us in the past and recommended us to a few neighbors as responsible shooters. I wish I were closer to present myself but...it'll have to wait a bit.

That's nice of the previous owner to give a recommendation.

Is there any interest of planning a trip with a few people to go door knocking over east for shooting permission?? I know that it is tedious work but you can really meet some good people and I believe it helps to show up FTF! Always up for a road trip.

My aunt and uncle are working at Coyote Rock Ranch and they have 800 acres of a canyon, field, and numerous hay barns so they may be interested in plucking off some rabbits, rats, woodchucks(yellow-bellied marmots), or rats. My aunt Sue Hagerty manages operations so she may be a good person to talk to or just mail them a letter. It is awesome because there is no chance on people walking around with its 20 employees and no random non-workers as it is gated.
